Is there a way to avoid returning visitors having to answer questions a second time, for example: What is you name? What is your email address? etc.
Is there a way to recognize that they are a returning visitor?

Hi there,
Yes, can actually hide the chatbot for returning visitors.
Please see - Show or Hide the bot for repeating visitors | Collect.chat Help Center

Hi Aslam,
Thanks for the reply. But that wasn’t exactly what I was asking. I understand that you can make the chatbot not appear at all for returning visitors.
What I am asking is that if you have returning visitors who use one chatbot, is there a way for the chatbot to recognize a returning visitor so that some questions do not have to be asked again.
The issue I’m try to solve is that if your chatbot requests identifying information from a visitor (e.g. name, email address, telephone number etc), each time a returning visitor uses the chatbot they will have to answer each one of these questions again. This could become very repetitive, especially for the use case I have in mind where I want to encourage lots of return visitors to use the bot.
In a regular form, most browser will remember these types of identifying information and auto-populate the form. I want ensure that users don’t feel that it would have just been quicker to fill out a form.
Hopefully my question makes more sense now? What do you think?
I understand your usecase better now.
It is possible to load a new chatbot for customers who have already tried the first chatbot. You have to add a different code snippet.
This is explained in Load a new chatbot for repeating visitors | Collect.chat Help Center and also has a demo.
Can you please see if this fits your request.
